I woke up in the same position I fell asleep. My left arm numb. I slept like a log. I was meant to meet Tobes at 10am, but I woke up at 9.45am- wasn't happening. This bed is lush. I jump in the shower and turn on the tv for some background noise and end up watching some random Freddie Prince Junior and Jessica Alba baseball themed film…it's terrible. Half an hour later, I've packed all of my clothes to wash at Tobes’, and I leave the hotel and try to find the metro station. My hotel is the Byblos Hotel in Tecom. I actually booked it by accident, I was meant to book the Bylbos in the Marina which is next door to Tobes. The whole Dubai accommodation sitch turned into a bit of a palaver after Toby's tower visitor problem. However, my room is so lovely and comfortable that I don't even want to think about moaning. 

I jump on the metro at Internet City, three stops later and I'm disembarking at Jumeirah Lake Towers, Marina side, heading to Horizon Tower to Tobe’s and Guy’s place. I check into the building and head upstairs. It's so weird seeing Toby and Guy living together. I still see these two together as Maidenhead under fives, touch rugby team mates. Toby and I head off for breakfast and end up at Yo! Sushi, I decided to stop at the first place we saw. We return to the flat soon after and I mooch about, washing my clothes, watching films, checking emails, uploading photos etc. Toby, meanwhile, flat hunts. He makes a few calls and arranges a few appointments, the first at 5.30pm at Marina Diamond 6, then another at Marina Diamond 4. The first apartment isn't bad, but it's dark and the current owner has a lot of stuff so it's cluttered. It goes in the maybe pile. Then we head to Marina diamond 4. It's lovely!!! Massive, bright, airy. It has a great view of the Marina and the sea, and it looks like the view won't be disturbed for a while. The kitchen has a large breakfast hatch which is perfect for entertaining and the sofas are so comfortable. They put in an offer and wait to hear back. We head off to Pier 7 to eat. First night in Dubai and I have fish and chips for dinner…

Guy goes back home and Toby and I head off to McGettigans and watch the football. 

A call in at the 24 hour supermarket to grab stuff for breakfast and water for the room And jump into my gigantic bed.
