I turn on the TV and watch MBC2. It's just too easy to watch films all day every day. Tobe gets to me for 1.30pm and we head off to the waterpark, stopping to grab lunch from the deli opposite the hotel. As we turn onto the palm I remind Tobe that it’s Easter so the park is going to be full of kids…he's irritated with himself for forgetting and carries on eating his wrap. He reaches the end of his tuna and sweet corn wrap and pearly white juice drips out of the bottom right in the middle of his chest. He's really mad. I can't stop laughing. Atlantis is bursting with people and Tobe keeps apologising. We queue for tickets and as we get to the front there's a sign ‘Poseidon’s Revenge is closed’. Again, I laugh, Tobe doesn't. “Right, fuck this. That's the best ride” Tobe says walking out of the queue. We go for ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. Toby hadn't been before and I figured he needed cheering up. We jump in a taxi and head to Zero Gravity, Tobe grumbles “so, let me get this straight. We just went to the Palm for bloody ice cream?” Yep, yep we did. A drink at Zero Gravity, a quick swim in the sea and Tobe heads off to view a flat with Guy. I head back to the hotel to get ready for drinks.
Getting into Toby’s building is such a palaver, I'm glad we didn't risk me staying there. First stop for a drink is the Nell Gwyne, a Welsh bar which is decorated to look like a castle. It's quiz night and the place is full of Brits. Next up, The Yacht Club. The clientele consists of men in tight shirts and iced gem haircuts, and women with lashes of make up and killer heels. It's busy, hot and loud. It's ladies night and as Toby accurately described it ‘the hunted become the hunters’. I get three free drink vouchers and use them up quickly. Guy and his work colleagues are there too and they've been on it for a while. I don't like the Yacht Club, turns out Tobe knew I wouldn't and just wanted to see my face. Pft. We swiftly get out of the Yacht Club and make our way to Mahiki. Guy had arranged a table there so we jump the queue and are lead to our table. I'm handed a vodka tonic, start dancing and that's pretty much the last thing I remember…I know that I had a drink in my hand the entire time and I consumed my body weight in Ciroc vodka.
